About the shop

Two lasers, a lot of wood and a soft spot for one-of-a-kind gifts.

Kerfwood started in a garage with one small laser and a stack of scrap maple. Today we work out of a shop on Mill Street, but every piece still gets looked at by a person before it goes in the box.

A kerf is the thin line a saw or a laser leaves when it cuts. It seemed like a good name for a shop that makes its living one fine line at a time.

We buy our boards from a mill two hours away and finish everything with food-safe mineral oil and beeswax.
